The power takes revenge

After being humiliated 5-0 the day before, the Montreal Force defeated Boston Pride 2-1 in overtime on Sunday afternoon in Rivière-du-Loup.

It was Jade Downie-Landry who gave the Quebec team the win. A native of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, he took advantage of numbers and ended hostilities.

Ann-Sophie Bettez got an assist in that crucial win. She and Downie-Landry also learned this week that they will represent the Force at the Premier Hockey Federation All-Star Game.

Full-back Taylor Baker, who will also be in the matchup with the league’s best players, scored the home side’s goal in regulation time. She hit the target in the second third.

Pride then leveled the game early in the last third. It was Loren Gabel who defeated goalkeeper Marie-Soleil Deschênes. The latter made 36 saves in the win.

The force will return to action on Friday when they visit the Connecticut Whale.
