Moscow, 13 August (EFE).- The pro-Russian authorities of Ukraine’s Zaporizhia region this Saturday denounced a new attack by Kiev forces on the eponymous nuclear power plant in that region.
“Energodar and the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant are again under fire from (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelenskyy’s militants,” Vladimir Rogov, a spokesman for the pro-Russian Zaporizhia government, said on his Telegram channel.
Earlier this Friday, Rogov denounced a Ukrainian attack with heavy weapons on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, which damaged the high-voltage power line of the power plant’s substation.
The pro-Russians have also denounced today that the Ukrainian attacks have forced them to shut down one of the turbines at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in the southern Kherson region on the border with Zaporizhia, which could have serious consequences for the operation of the nuclear power plant.
Kyiv, in turn, rejects the Russian allegations and accuses Moscow of increasing the risk of a possible nuclear accident “to the maximum”.
