The protagonist of “Everybody Hates Cris” reached 47 kg due to illness

Tyler James Williams, who played the protagonist of Everybody Hates Chris, revealed to the US edition of Men’s Health that he weighed 47 kg. He explained that he suffers from Crohn’s disease, which can be genetic and affects the intestines. The condition required him to undergo surgery to reduce the size of the digestive organ causing a nosocomial infection and resulting in extreme thinness.

The actor revealed that for many years he thought he couldn’t build muscle mass. Tyler told the magazine that even with a fat diet and plenty of exercise, he couldn’t stop being skinny.

In 2017, he learned he had Crohn’s disease after suddenly falling ill and experiencing severe abdominal pain. “I pushed my body to the limit, when it came in December it crashed,” he said.

Tyler currently weighs 140 lbs and displays a toned physique as seen in the magazine’s photos. Alongside the surgery, the actor began eating a balanced diet, avoiding foods that can cause a crisis, such as red meat, coffee, and alcoholic beverages.

But one thing caught Tyler’s particular attention in his doctor’s prescription. “He said, ‘Here’s something that will keep your system from igniting, keep your mind clear and make you eat. And he wrote me a prescription for marijuana,” he said, laughing.

On his Instagram profile, the actor published one of the photos taken by the magazine to publicize his interview. In the caption, he dedicated the article to patients with Crohn’s disease. “We must continue to learn to listen to our bodies and treat them better,” he wrote.
