Coming to the end of the first season, SheHulk: Defender of Heroes opened the Pandora’s box of the references and decided to bring everything that fans have of it Marvel Cinematic Universe waited.

Between flirting, fighting and more flirting, Jennifer Walters managed to get from the courts to the bars and onto the streets like heroin. With so many transitions, it’s possible that something went unnoticed. That’s why we’re splitting here all the references and easter eggs you might not have noticed in episode eight. Cash!

frogman

To expand the lineup of littleknown characters from SheHulk: Defender of Heroes, the eighth episode brought the frogmanalso known as jump frog or frogman. The version we know in this episode is Eugene Paul Patilio Jr.the second of the character in the comics.

the first was Vincent Patilioan inventor who appeared in Daredevil #25started 1966. The character may not have been taken seriously in this adaptation, but in the comics he is a villain who has already crossed paths Daredevil, Defender, Iron Man and Spiderman.

Matt Murdock

the arrival of Matt Murdock in SheHulk was one of the most anticipated moments of the series. His introduction manages to introduce him even to those unfamiliar with the hero.

In this scene we have the icon Red glasses by Murdock and shows how his senses are enhanced. To do this, we first see him smell the fuel used by Eugene and then realize that he lied.

Another odd clue is the mention of the Treaty of Sokovia. So far, nothing has been revealed about whether the treaty is in force or not. It is possible that after the events of civil war and the snapshot Thanosonly there was no longer any need to uphold a law directed against the people who were saving mankind day by day.

Wakanda, Killmonger and Settlers

After a message from todd, the guy with the She Hulk fetish, Jennifer meets him at a restaurant. There, the character finds himself on a forced date, with Todd bragging about his latest acquisition: a Wakandan spear.

Not only is it legitimate in his opinion as he has issues with Wakandans since they claim it was stolen by settlers.

The situation is nothing new in the universe Wonder. On the contrary, in black Panther we see a clear criticism of European museums when Killmonger Evidence that all items on display in these rooms are stolen.

Something that is in no way different from our reality. in a program by John Oliverthe moderator shared a poll saying that 95% of African culture is preserved in European museums. In the case of the show, the remaining 5% seems to be in the hands of wealthy people like Todd.

Daredevil uniform

The return of Daredevil brings with it a uniform designed by Luke Jacobson. The colors may be new for the Charlie Cox version and not to Jenn’s liking, but they’re a nod to the hero’s first costume.

in comics, the yellow and red suit it was made by Matt himself. As a tribute, the hero used the clothes that his father used in the fighting rings.

“I can do this all day!”

During the fight between Jenn and Matt, the heroine uses her family’s famous gossip to stop Daredevil from escaping. If you go to him and remove Daredevil’s mask, we will see an advertisement for in the background Rogers.

The play was featured in the series Archer Falconwhere we had an endless musical number to the sound save the city (Save the City in literal translation).

QR code

on the outside of “no secret hiding place” from Eugene we have a rod with a QR code. It leads the user directly to She Hulk #9in 2014. In it we follow a legal battle between Matt Murdock and Jennifer Walters. The strange thing about the plot is that everyone is judged SteveRogers.

Embittered by the death of a friend during Second World War O Captain America asks for help to be criminalized for his actions. When he convinces Jenn to side with him, Steve asks Matt to represent his friend’s family in court.

In this way, he guarantees that he will be able to reach the truth in an undeniable way and be convicted or acquitted of what happened in his past.

Soundtrack and color palettes

The eighth episode is full of pictorial references to Daredevil and SheHulk. From red straws to green napkins, what caught the eye was the neon lights, a hallmark of the series Netflix.

As we watch Jennifer Murdock succumb to her charm, a red light shines through the green glowing on her face. Afterwards, the two are seen bathed in red while chatting in front of the neon sign.

Another reference is the soundtrack. While Daredevil is getting an original score mix for his Netflix series; As Jennifer puts on her uniform, we hear a variation of the band’s music. avenger.

Frogger and other references

Frogman’s lair has some strange Easter eggs. The first is Arcade frogthe famous 80’s game in which a frog tries to cross the road. We can also see a variation of the same game but with the frogman.

Additionally, the setting has been adorned with onomatopoeia of the character’s leaps in the comics: “LEAP!” Finally, we have one Beacon similar to bat signalbut with the silhouette of a frog.

“Are you there?”

The ending of the She Hulk episode brought something different than the others, the famous “Are you still here?”. Already used as inspiration for a post credit scene Dead Poolthis moment consecrated Enjoy life Adoidado as one of the main productions fourth wall breach.

This is where it has particular utility in announcing that a major reversal is about to happen. When speculating about what this might mean, Jenn refers to the possible existence of a “Hulk only red” or that she will be “fucked” (“You will find me dead in a fridge” in the original translation).

Jennifer references a recurring pop culture cliché Female characters are killed as a motivation for a male character to take a new direction for their story. “Frigged” is a reference to “fridge” as the term was thought of as an arc of Green Lantern where his girlfriend was killed and put in a refrigerator.

wolverine

SheHulk was a point of reference for the wolverine. In the second episode we saw a reference to the wolverine in a message and now we have it nikki Using makeup brushes as claws. Joking aside, it’s impossible not to associate the pose with the mutant.

Claims Management Department

After a moment of anger, Jennifer interrupts the screen and shows a video of her having sex Josch. again the Claims Management Department enter the faces Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The team can be seen with devices similar to those in MS. Wonder. They also have cars loaded with sonic cannons. This technology was used in The incredible Hulk to prevent further development Emerald Giant.
