Despite a fighting performance, the Quebec Remparts lost 4-3 to the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Wednesday night at the Marcel Dionne Center.
The task certainly didn't look easy for Eric Veilleux's men. The Voltigeurs were the second-best team in the Western Conference before the game. Thanks to this win, they are now in first place with a record of 24-9-4-1.

The two teams exchanged goals until the second break. However, the final duel proved fatal for the Quebec side, who conceded two goals, including one that secured victory for the local favorites.
Ethan Gauthier, a junior player for the Tampa Bay Lightning, scored his team's third goal at the start of the third period. However, it was Alexis Gendron who gave his team victory thanks to his second goal of the game. The latter also made his club debut after joining the Voltigeurs from the Gatineau Olympics on Tuesday.
Loic Goyette was the other Drummondville player who got the red light.
However, the Remparts never gave up and reduced the score to 4-3 thanks to Antoine Michaud's sixth goal of the season 3:21 before the end of the game. Mathieu Wener and Andrew Gweon were also there for the visitors.
Remparts goalkeeper Vincent Filion kept his club in the game all game with 43 saves, but it wasn't enough.
Quebec will look to get back to winning ways against the Cape Breton Eagles on Friday night at the Videotron Center.
