After keeping one of the American League’s powerhouses in suspense for a good portion of the game, the Laval Rocket lost 4-1 to the Toronto Marlies on Friday night at the Coca-Cola Coliseum.

It’s the fifth loss in as many games for the Rocket against their division rivals.
After 1 min 36 sec. game forward Alex Steeves beat Cayden Primeau with a shot that surprised the Laval goalkeeper.
Peter Abbandonato was the only Rocket skater to score during the game. The number 98 was well positioned in the enclave, taking advantage of a loose puck to score an eighth goal in the second third this season.
However, the Laval representatives collapsed during the last skirmish. The Torontonians flashed the red light twice in a short interval of 1:37 and increased the lead to three goals.
Marshall Rifai and Steeves, in an empty net, were the markers during this expensive sequence.
Primeau had a very busy evening. He received 35 shots during the game and was reported 32 times.
Jean-François Houle’s men have a chance to avenge their loss to the Marlies on Saturday when they meet Greg Moore’s side at the Coca-Cola Coliseum.
This is the last meeting before the American League All-Star Weekend, which takes place on February 5th and 6th at the Place Bell in Laval. Alex Belzile and Anthony Richard will be there.
