Riley Kidney scored with less than 90 seconds left in the game and the Laval Rocket defeated the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 4-3 on Friday night at the PPL Center.
The 20-year-old forward took advantage of a power play and a great shot from Arber Xhekaj to put the puck behind goaltender Cal Petersen.
At the beginning of the third period, Jan Mysak equalized. With this success, Alex-Olivier Voyer collected his first assist of the season, playing his fifth game for the American League farm club the Montreal Canadiens.
The other Rocket scorers were Brandon Gignac and Lucas Condotta. The first scored while outnumbered, after a mistake by defender Victor Mete in his area.
Samu Tuoamaala, Wade Allison and Emil Andrae scored for the crowd favorites. In front of the guests' cage, Jakub Dobes was challenged 45 times. The Rocket goalkeeper also received the first star for his brilliant performance of 42 saves.
It was the third win in a row for head coach Jean-François Houle's team. This is the first time this season that the Rocket have won so many games in a row. He will look to continue his winning streak on Saturday when he visits Hershey to take on the Bears.
