The Rocket loses in Belleville

Despite their efforts, the Laval Rocket fell 4-1 to the Senators in Belleville on Thursday night.

Towards the end of the first period, goalkeeper Jakub Dobes gave up twice in just over three minutes. The guests couldn't recover afterwards.

Jacob Larsson first completed a sequence prepared by Roby Jarventie and Matthew Highmore. The latter then took advantage of the numerical advantage and scored his fifth goal of the season.

There were less than five minutes left in the second period when Josh Currie scored the goal.

Laval then attempted a comeback. Jean-François Houle's side dominated the period in terms of shots on goal, 14 to 6.

The guests were able to reduce the deficit at the end of the period with a numerical advantage. Striker Emil Heineman scored his second goal of the season. Arber Xhekaj and Sean Farrell subsequently collected an assist.

But the 23-year-old goalkeeper Mads Sogaard didn't let anything go and enabled the Senators to win.

Jarventie finished the job by scoring in an empty cage.

Quebecer Maxence Guenette stood out in the win with two assists. The 22-year-old defenseman has 21 points in 28 games this season.

The Rocket players are given the opportunity to get back up quickly. On Friday evening they will resume their action in front of their fans, while Le Crunch de Syracuse will visit the Place Bell in Laval.
