The Rocket's lucky streak is over

The Laval Rocket suffered their first regular-season loss in 11 games against the Crunch in Syracuse on Friday night.

The Montreal Canadiens' farm club lost 4-2. During their lucky streak of 10 regular-season games without a loss since December 28, head coach Jean-François Houle's men held a record of 9-0-1. The day's setback also ended a streak of five straight wins.

The Quebecers of the Crunch showed up against the Rocket. Félix Robert and Gabriel Fortier found the net, while Gabriel Dumont received assists on the goals of Sean Day and Cole Koepke (empty goal).

At the Rocket, William Trudeau and Philippe Maillet hit the mark. Xavier Simoneau was involved in both of these goals.

With that, Trudeau extended his streak of games with at least one point to four. He collected two goals and just as many assists.

Goalkeeper Jakub Dobes endured 25 shots in the loss. His counterpart, Hugo Alnefelt, was challenged to victory 31 times.

This matchup was the first game for forward Joshua Roy since he was traded to the American League by the Habs. The Quebecer shot four times on goal and maintained a neutral margin.

The Rocket are now traveling to Rochester to face the Americans. The two teams will face off on Saturday at the Blue Cross Arena.
