But every witness who goes through the hearings shudders at his testimony, and that was the case of Johnny Depp’s security guard Sean Bett at the trial. This assured that prior to the actors’ separation, he feared for the physical integrity of both and imagined the worst possible ending, which involved death.
To illustrate what the now ex-partner’s relationship was like, Bett recounted a struggle he witnessed that caused him to imagine the worst-case scenario, and he shared it with the actress as a warning.
“Once they had an argument at his West Hollywood address. Johnny said to me, ‘Just take her to the penthouse downtown so she can relax and cool off,'” the man claimed.
“When we drove downtown, she cried. That was at the time when discussions were fairly common. And I told him, ‘This can’t go on like this, or they kill themselves or they go to jail,'” he recalled.

According to her story, the security guard could not fulfill his goal of avoiding further fights between the couple because the actress replied that she felt great love and was not ready to lose her boyfriend.
The feelings described did not correspond to the facts: the violence became more frequent.
“He threw a bottle of water or a plastic cup down the stairs and it bounced off in Johnny’s direction, but I caught him and we got out of there as fast as we could,” he revealed of one of the attacks the actor received from Heard.

It was the article published by Washington Post in 2018, written by Amber Heard entitled “I spoke out against sexual violence and faced the wrath of our culture. This has to change,” which brought him to court.
In this document, she recounts shocking situations she experienced, and although she gave no proper names, the events were attributed to him.
Deep opened up about the ordeal she was experiencing from the moment the article was published because she became the character that represented domestic violence.
Statements by Amber Heard in an interview
The allegations against him were added to the interviews his ex-partner gave, such as when he appeared on a magazine cover with a bruise on his face, to portray the situation he was recounting.
“I felt responsible for clearing my name for many reasons, but I wanted to free my kids from this horrible thing they needed to hear about their father, which was wrong,” the actor said.
Regarding the events that took place during the 15-month courtship, the actor didn’t hesitate to mention that in one moment the relationship had completely changed.
“It’s very strange when one day you’re sort of Cinderella and then 0.6 seconds later you’re Quasimodo,” he explained, referring to Heard’s personality, which he feels was changing rapidly.
He also admitted that the relationship had complicated moments due to heated discussions, but he did not engage in physical violence.
“I never got to the point of hitting Mrs. Heard in any way, nor have I hit any woman in my life,” he said, denying the allegations against him.
Punches, bottles and an operation: The day Johnny Depp almost lost a finger
The witnesses selected by the renowned actor did not skimp on details.
Such was the case that the stories reflected in shocking moments he would have gone through during the relationship with Heard.
It was doctor David Kipper who revived the surgery his patient underwent when he almost lost a finger after a violent episode with the actress.
Giving his testimony at the trial, Kipper reconstructed the event that occurred in 2015 when he was present at the home he shared with Heard following a call from his patient.
When he arrived at the property, he found part of the compound with blood on the walls from Depp’s finger following an injury. He continued to perform a cure while others present searched for part of the flesh of the missing yolk: it was found in the kitchen.
There was also Heard, who the doctor said had no injuries.
Only the actor went to the hospital, where he underwent finger reconstruction surgery. The medical record says so, but doesn’t tell the episode in which he was injured.
The actor is demanding $50 million in damages from his ex-partner.

It was the plaintiff who revealed what happened that day after a fight: “Heard threw the bottle of vodka, threw the second bottle of vodka at me, which cut the pad of my finger and slashed my bones.”
“That’s when I started feeling what I thought was probably some kind of crisis, a nervous breakdown or something,” he said.
