The San Francisco Giants have announced the death of Cristin Coleman, wife of former ace Tim Lincecum.

Coleman died of cancer on June 27, the San Mateo Journal previously reported, and was an educator and principal at a Bay Area elementary school.

“The Giants were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Tim Lincecum’s wife, Cristin Coleman,” the team said said.

“Our deepest condolences go to Tim, Cristin’s family and everyone whose lives she has touched as a friend and teacher.

“She was loved by the Giants family and her caring and genuine demeanor touched those of us who were lucky enough to know her during her and Timmy’s years with us.”

Coleman was also popular at her school, and Superintendent Chris Mount-Benites paid tribute to her in an email at the time of her death.

“If you were in a relationship with Cristin, my deepest condolences. You are not alone, many of us feel this very much.’

According to the Journal, Coleman died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

She was “the light of our lives, a beautiful person who touched so many hearts,” her parents said, according to the Journal.
