The Saudi prince’s mansion, which is for sale in London for BRL 1.5 billion, is the most expensive in the city; see extra

The mansion of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia in London, UK is up for sale for more than R$1.5 billion. According to the independent portal, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud’s family has assets equivalent to more than R$ 4.2 trillion. However, the monarch would seek to “cut spending”. With more than 8,800 square meters of floor space and practically as much outdoor space, the property he is selling in Regent’s Park is the most expensive property on the market in the English capital to date.

The mansion has 40 rooms, eight garages, a large garden and a tennis court, as well as a sauna and a library. According to the Independent, it was bought in 1988 for BRL 93 million by Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the former crown prince and defense minister of Saudi Arabia. Before that it was owned by the University of London.

According to Roarie Scarisbrick, a partner at Property Vision, the fact that the villa is quite expensive shortens the list of possible buyers. However, some “ultrarich”, as the Independent claims, have been interested in the house since last month.

Real estate mogul Nick Candy and his wife, actress Holly Valance, have already visited the property, which is on the market with Beauchamp Estates and Knight Frank, two luxury real estate companies.

According to the Financial Times, London’s luxury property market has been increasingly dominated by foreign buyers in recent decades. For the newspaper, this is due to the UK’s strict property laws and the ability to shop discreetly and leave virtually no trace.

Previously, the title of ‘London’s most expensive house’ also belonged to the Saudi royal family, with a 45room mansion overlooking Hyde Park. It was sold to a Chinese billionaire, businessman Hui Ka Yan, in 2020 for R$1.3 billion.
