The SBT reporter says he was attacked at the station for defending Bolsonaro TV Pop

Daniel PennaFirme, a reporter and deputy host of SBT news programs in Rio de Janeiro, claims to have been attacked in the station’s newsroom by Silvio Santos for openly defending Jair Bolsonaro’s political positions. In an interview with Rica Perrone’s podcast, the precandidate for the post of state deputy for the União Brasil says that a colleague spat in his face after he announced his vote. However, the journalist says he did not report the situation to human resources and reveals that he did not react because he was afraid of the Maria da Penha law.

“In a newsroom you don’t expect a colleague to spit in your face for saying you were going to vote for Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and that happened to me. I was spit in the face in a journalist’s office and later knew I could have reported it to HR. I didn’t do it because I didn’t know,” explained PennaFirm, who did not leave the company’s employees. He is absent from work due to the election law and will return to normal work on October 4 after the first ballot.

According to the journalist, everything took place in the premises of the Silvio Santos channel in Rio de Janeiro. “He called me a fascist and spat in an adjoining room, but inside the company premises. I kept my head, if I beat her, it’s Lei Maria da Penha, it’s oppressive and fascist. It’s their strategy. do you know what i did i cried You don’t expect that,” says he, who has worked at SBT for 11 years.

“In politics, the things I’ve seen in my candidacy process are dirty, there’s betrayal, there’s carpet dragging, there’s political fluctuation, there’s party composition, everything I see scares me no more than I’ve heard in the editorial offices of journalism. Journalistic editorial offices are worse environments than politics,” he concluded.
