After 148 days of strike, the WGA (Writers Guild of America) has reached a tentative agreement with the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers). This agreement runs 94 pages and includes salary improvements, the minimum number of screenwriters per project and the regulation of the use of artificial intelligence.

Geoffrey Hinton (father of AI) said in May that he regretted his research. As you all know, Pandora’s Box (which was actually an amphora) cannot be closed. Their evils are already widespread, generating photos of minors in marbles, fake news, college papers, crime translations, etc. The usual devils without the hassle of doing things yourself.

AI, like all the evils of our time, will defeat us through convenience and sheer nonsense. Everything deceptive, everything questionable has seductive forms. Wouldn’t it be faster to complete this task with ChatGPT? Why don’t you have a carton of milk brought to you by bike instead of picking it up? What happens when you look at this notification? Don’t feel like buying this product with just one click? And we are so innocent that we go to the island of games like Pinocchio.

Little by little we become entangled in the spider web that has made our lives a painful journey between screens. The difference between making life easier and taking away its meaning is becoming smaller and smaller. Over time, the screenwriters and actors realized that they could become expendable. You work in an industry that employs millions of people and generates tens of billions. And it took almost half a year for them to come to an agreement. Be careful, the neighbor’s beards are already trimmed.
