They say spring is the season of love. Hormones wake up. We tend to get outside more after being warmly dressed during the winter months. Dating apps are also seeing an increase in “single” status. Romantic reality shows continue to rise in popularity, and in some cases, get weird too. An opportunity for singles to show off their seduction skills. Here are some examples.

Quebec adaptation of the popular Love Island format. Singles who are catapulted into a mansion with heavenly landscapes must form couples while constantly faced with the search for better candidates. The stronger the bond with their partners, the more often the singles will go through the eliminations of the flame ceremonies. But new candidates keep coming to assert themselves in the Casa di Amor. Olivier Dion coordinates it and Geneviève Schmidt provides her observations.

One of the channel’s biggest hits is hosted by the favorite couple of this type of competition: Nick and Vanessa Lachey. Is true love blind? That’s what we’ve been trying to prove to ourselves for four seasons. This social experiment, as the platform likes to call it, documents the journey of singles who allow suitors to seduce them without seeing them. The result when it clicks, engagement and, who knows, maybe more. Only a promise of commitment can allow them to discover each other’s faces.

Hosted by Nick Lachey, this contest landed on Netflix on Valentine’s Day. There are contestants who can be seen in other franchises on the platform. In this seduction game singles have to find their soulmate by completing challenges. The most compatible couple must wreak havoc on the other couples. Obviously we are on a paradise island. And there are arguments, because the competitors are not lacking in personality.

Is it possible to stay friends with your ex without hurting a new relationship? The kind of dynamic “à la Bruce Willis and Demi Moore”. This series is about five couples who have to deal with the presence of an ex in the background. I’m not talking about a visit here and there, but an unexpected turnout. This leads to confrontations and some episodes of discomfort. Two seasons are currently airing.

It’s rare that contestants for love reality shows are over 29 years old. And it’s rare that we empower women… with experience. Here the eight protagonists are between 40 and 60 years old and are in a magnificent Mexican villa. They face eight young single men in their twenties. What’s a little twisted? They are in fact the sons of the participants. And the tests can be uncomfortable in this context.

We’re talking about characters who have been completely transformed by prosthetics or masks, leaving no clues as to the person who is underneath. Discussions, activities and in some cases hugs before a choice is made and the chosen one reveals himself in his true light.

Have you ever regretted missing an opportunity to be with someone or a broken relationship? Six singles who are still searching for that rare pearl have the opportunity to rekindle failed loves or missed dates. The applicants who will be presented will therefore be people who knew them and who may be entitled to a second chance.
