The UN Security Council will meet again this Tuesday (19th) to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip. But due to US and Israeli interference, the new resolution proposed by the UAE has to omit mention of a humanitarian ceasefire.
To avoid another veto, the proposal must focus on providing humanitarian assistance. Washington believes the ceasefire will ultimately benefit Hamas. That's why he defended the idea of pausing the fighting to spare civilians.
Meanwhile, the massacre of Palestinians continues, leaving more than 19,000 dead. Israel continues to kill hundreds every day, most of them children and teenagers.
Professor of international relations at the Federal University of ABC, Igor Fuser, criticized the US government's stance and stated that the Security Council was paralyzed by this veto power.
“The Security Council is paralyzed by the veto power that the United States, together with other powers, has over Council decisions,” he emphasized.
Fuser participated live on Central do Brasil this Tuesday (19) and reinforced the criticism of the US government's involvement in the massacre of the Palestinians.
“The United States is complicit in the genocide Israel is committing in Gaza. The United States is supplying the bombs being detonated in Gaza.”
In the interview, the professor also analyzed the amount of press coverage here in Brazil about the attacks on Gaza and expressed concern about the likely naturalization of Palestinian deaths.
