The feature film, which stars Zachary Levi, grossed $30.5 million in US and Canadian theaters between Friday and Sunday, much less than the $53.5 million that the first work released in 2019 , recorded.
The Hollywood Reporter noted that this sequel was “one of the worst starts for a major Hollywood superhero film.”
In second place, Scream VI posted sales of $17.5 million.
For the sixth installment of this famous series of horror movies, in which the terrifying “Ghostface” rampages this time in New York, we find the fetish actress of the series Courteney Cox, but also the star of the Wednesday series, Jenna Ortega.
In third place on the podium, Creed III, the ninth film in the Rocky Box saga and the first without Sylvester Stallone, collected 15.3 million.
Creed III continues to follow the story of Adonis Creed – the son of Apollo – who this time comes out of retirement for a much-anticipated confrontation with a friend from yesteryear. This is the first film from Michael B. Jordan, who also plays the title role.
In fourth place was Sony Studios new sci-fi thriller, 65, starring Adam Driver, which grossed 5.8 million.
Closely followed by Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the latest addition to the Marvel universe, at around 4.1 million.
