The Sky Bridge 721, named for its amazing length in meters (the length in feet – 2,365 – is a gulp), is the longest suspension bridge in the world and is scheduled to open next month.
Located in east Bohemia’s Dolni Morava resort in the Czech Republic in the foothills of the Jeseniky Mountains, the structure hangs 95 meters (311 ft) above the ground at its highest point – and is just 1.2 m (3.5 ft) wide.

The bridge, which holds the longest suspension bridge record of the 516 Arouca Bridge in Portugal (also named for its length in meters), is described in a statement as “a unique experience that offers visitors breathtaking spectacle and an adrenaline rush”. .

It is surrounded by the “picturesque nature of the Kralicky Sneznik mountain” some 200 km (124 miles) east of Prague and “offers visitors spectacular views of natural landscapes that cannot be experienced anywhere else”.
Located just a few meters from the popular Sky Walk – a 55-metre-tall spiral wooden walkway – the suspension bridge spans the Mlynsky creek valley from the crest of Slamnik Mountain to the crest of Chlum Mountain.
Visitors enter the bridge at an altitude of 1,125 meters (3,690 ft) and exit at 1,135 meters (3,723 ft) above sea level.

“This is a unique engineering feat in the Czech Republic,” the statement said, adding that after crossing the valley on the other side of the bridge, visitors will have the opportunity to explore local nature and the history of the region a new bridge to discover 2 km long nature trail called “The Bridge of Time”.
This includes “augmented reality components” and 10 educational charts on the topics of environmental protection and the history of the Sudetenland [a province in northern Czechoslovakia] in an interactive and fun way”.
