The MSG Sphere multimedia concert and exhibition arena, which opened this Friday (29) in Las Vegas with a U2 show, is the largest LED display in the world. The ballshaped room with a capacity for around 20,000 people thrilled the fans of the Irish band who attended the first show of the “UV Warning Baby” residency tour. See pictures below.
The hightech structure, which offers futuristic experiences, was built in a luxury resort and will host residency shows presentations that are similar to a tour but always take place in the same location. Vegas became popular as a venue for this format with shows from artists such as Elvis and Frank Sinatra.
In addition to the shows, the arena was also designed to host exhibitions such as “Postcard from Earth,” a partnership between producer Graham Booth and filmmaker Darren Aronofsky director of works such as “Requiem for a Dream,” “Black Swan,” “Mother! and “The Whale”.
The arena is completely covered with LED panels inside and out and also features other multisensory technologies such as immersive seats as well as five humanoid robots called Aura. More interesting facts can be found below:
✅The indoor scene features a 14,000 square meter LED panel with 16K resolution, which is equivalent to about one and a half football fields;
✅ The room is valued at R$11.6 billion and is 111 meters high and 157 meters wide;
✅The room has an immersive and individual sound system with 167,000 driver speakers as well as 1,586 permanently installed speakers and another 300 mobile speaker modules.
✅ The arena not only has the largest LED panel, but also the largest spherical structure in the world
✅ 3D effects devices can even simulate the force of an explosion in the arena. Additionally, the temperature can be changed to give the audience the feeling of being in a snowstorm.
