In fact, fifteen stamps are being issued by Royal Mail in the United Kingdom to mark the anniversary of the iconic group.

The Spice Girls are the sixth musical group to be the subject of their own stamp issue. This is the first time Royal Mail has dedicated stamps to a female pop group. Other groups that have been the subject of a stamp issue include the Beatles in 2007, Queen in 2020 and the Rolling Stones in 2022.

The girl's band members said in a statement: “We are delighted to be celebrated by the Royal Mail alongside some of music's most famous and influential legends.” When we formed the Spice Girls, we never imagined that thirty years later we would be the first Girl group that would be the subject of an entire stamp collection – that's Girl Power! »

Ten of the stamps feature photographs of a selection of the British group's performances between 1997 and 2012, including the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony and their performance at the 1997 Brit Awards.

Other stamps show Geri Halliwell-Horner in her iconic Union Jack dress and Victoria Beckham during “The Return of the Spice Girls” tour at New York's Madison Square Garden in 2008.

The final five stamps feature still images of the singers from a photo shoot for Spice World, the group's 1997 musical.

The legendary group consisting of Victoria, Geri, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown – also known as Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty and Scary Spice – was formed in 1994. They officially disbanded in February 2001 to pursue solo projects.

The stamps will be available from January 11th.
