After the arrest of a first 32-year-old suspect at his home in Terrebonne, his alleged 34-year-old accomplice also received a visit from the police at dawn.
According to our information, the two men are strongly suspected by Sûreté du Québec (SQ) investigators to have committed serious crimes against the person of having played a direct role in the attempted murder by shooting death of Leonardo Rizzuto.
It would be the driver and the shooter who were in the prime suspect vehicle, a black Porsche Macan.
The purpose of meetings with investigators is not just to send a message that we know them, but also to let them know their rights if they ever decide to confess, commented a police source familiar with the attempted murder file.
We must also keep in mind that since the decision in Jordan, the police are obliged to respect the deadlines set by the Supreme Court of Canada once they officially charge a suspect in a criminal investigation.
Targeted attacks on the henchmen who would have been willing to carry out the murder contract against the last surviving son of the deceased godfather Vito Rizzuto would increase the pressure on the sponsor of the attempted murder.
Also, the passport of the man suspected by police of having awarded Leonardo Rizzuto an award was confiscated on March 19 on suspicion of secretly trying to leave the country.
If these people choose to work together during the investigation, they will know how to join us, the same police source added.
The searches of the two main suspects over the past few days could provide additional evidence for their arrests.

According to our information, there could also be further arrests in the coming weeks in order to continue to put pressure on those involved in the high-profile assassination attempt.
So far, the two main suspects have been linked to street gangs in the north-east of the metropolis.
Two vehicles identified
Leonardo Rizzuto, the last surviving son of Vito Rizzuto, escaped death on March 15 while driving his black Mercedes on Highway 440 in Laval. Around 4:30 p.m., the occupant of a black Porsche Macan is said to have shot his luxury car several times at the intersection of Highway 13.
According to the SQ investigation, a second vehicle, a red Porsche Macan, could also be linked to this attempted murder.
Leonardo Rizzuto had managed to escape and then stopped in the parking lot of a funeral home off Highway 13. The emergency services then came to his aid.
The man, described by police as one of the masterminds of the Montreal mafia, was injured in the leg. Another person in the car was also injured.
Leonardo Rizzuto sat at the Rom Café on Boulevard des Laurentides in Laval before taking to the streets and being chased by the suspects. This location would also be known to the SQ as it was set up as a meeting place for Italian organized crime.
After the attempted murder of Rizzuto, SQ Major Crimes Investigators against the person set up a command post near the Rom Cafe to gather information from the public.
