The Major Crimes Investigations Unit of the Sûreté du Québec is actively working to shed light on the circumstances of last night's events in the canton of Arnaud, Sept-Îles. Shots were fired from one vehicle to another on Route 138, while one round struck a residence.

Investigators are awaiting the results of on-site investigations. They are also seeking the public's cooperation in the various unsolved criminal cases in the Sept-Îles region.

That Friday evening, the Sûreté du Québec sent a large number of troops to the canton of Arnaud. Route 138 was closed for a time. There were no injuries. There have been no arrests so far.

Remember that shots were also fired recently in Parc Ferland. Police officers stationed in Sept-Îles carried out two prevention and awareness-raising activities ten days ago to reassure the population and invite witnesses of crimes to report.

Investigators are also analyzing any similar elements and events that may have occurred in recent months. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the SQ Information Center at 1 800 659-4264.
