The stars of House Of The Dragon film another day

The stars of ‘House Of The Dragon’ film another day of dramatic and gory death scenes for Season 2

House Of The Dragon fans are eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated second season, and filming will resume on Thursday.

Members of the cast and crew were back and filming some very gory fight scenes in a Surrey forest.

An unknown actor, wearing armor and dark tights, was mounted on a horse and dramatically gazed into the distance, making for a suspenseful scene.

He wore a gray cloak and tied his hair back in a bun as he rode the beast through the forest.

Props of cremated deceased lay eerily scattered on the grass.

They were covered with black paint and impaled with an arrow.

The remains of a fire were still burning.

Other actors were seen in period costumes as they filmed in the woods.

Most of the actors appeared to be wearing green, the color of the House of Hightower.

Many costumes and shields also bore the family symbol – the green flame atop the high spire of their Oldtown seat.

Also, several crew members were spotted using various weapons, including crossbows, while covering scenes.

Horses were also present, surrounded by actors dressed as knights in armor and mail.

In addition, wooden supports made of tree trunks were set up to erect barricades.

This included logs that had been converted into battering rams and strapped onto wheels.

Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series is based on the Fire & Blood novels by George RR Martin.

According to a Variety source, despite the writers’ strike in the US in May, filming for the second season began while production in the UK progressed.

A source told the publication that the scripts for the series had been in the works for some time and that it would not affect filming.

Filming is also unaffected by the Screen Actors Guild strike due to local union rules.

The show’s cast consists primarily of British actors working under Equity contracts rather than SAG-AFTRA.

Although Equity has expressed its support to the Hollywood union, the law does not allow Equity members to strike in solidarity.

The union issued a memo: “Due to existing anti-union laws in the UK, SAG-AFTRA members currently working under an Equity UK collective agreement should continue to report for work.”

“An artist who joins a strike (or refuses to cross a picket line) in the UK has no protection from being sacked or sued for breach of contract by the producer or the activist.”

“If Equity encourages anyone to join the strike or not to cross a picket line, Equity itself is acting unlawfully and is therefore liable for damages or an injunction.”

As a result, although House of the Dragon is an HBO series set in the US, actors who are SAG-AFTRA members but work in the UK on an equity contract are required to report for work.

Series showrunner and executive producer Ryan Condal teased what fans can expect from season two, saying, “House of the Dragon has returned.”

“We’re excited to return to shooting with members of our original family and new talent on both sides of the camera.”

“All your favorite characters will soon conspire at the council tables, marching their armies and riding their dragons into battle.”

“We can’t wait to share what we have in store.”

The first season received critical acclaim, with particular praise for the series’ visual effects and character development.

HBO executives hope the next episode will repeat the success of the first season, with the first episode being viewed by over 10 million viewers on day one, the highest number of any premiere in HBO history.

Each episode of Season 1 of House of the Dragon averaged 29 million viewers in the United States
