The trailer promised: TV3 announced the premiere of a new sitcom starring Julio Manrique and Cristina Genebat, which would use a humorous tone to explain the chores and disagreements of a couple from Igualada who have been married for 30 years. The novelty – following the tradition of American comedy – was that it was “sold” as a live series and in the presence of the audience. The day of the premiere of the supposed series came – this Wednesday – entitled Quan el cor s’atura (When the heart stops), when after a few minutes of airtime the actress seems to be having a heart attack, the technicians rush to their aid and the Broadcast is cut off.

The event caused more than one viewer to jump off the sofa, and confusion and concern arose due to the already mythical retransmission of Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds. But the experiment did not go far. After a few seconds of the appeal curtain, TV3 resumed broadcast, returning to the series and revealing that it had all been a montage. What viewers saw was an unprecedented promotional campaign for La Marató, the major solidarity program that will air in December and will be raising funds for cardiovascular disease this edition.

It continued with interviews with those responsible for the campaign, who explained that with this format they wanted to make the population aware that a crisis such as a heart attack or stroke can affect anyone at any time. “The most important thing about the La Marató campaign is that fiction can be real,” actress Cristina Genebat told Catalunya Ràdio on Thursday.
