Portuguese teacher and guided studies, Alessandra Beltramim, from Escola Integral Dr. Antenor Pamphilo dos Santos in Iporã was one of those selected to take part in the Ganhando o Mundo program, which will host 96 teachers for a threeweek exchange in Finland or Canada. The names of the classifieds were published by the state government last Friday (14th).
Alessandra, who is a secondary and primary school teacher, was one of the three teachers in the Umuarama Regional Education Center (NRE) area who were assessed to participate in the final selection of the program, but she was the only one to pass the final process and made it to the vacancy.
After passing the State Department of Education’s selection process, which required training and testing, she is now preparing for the trip to Canada, which will take place in September. “I hope that on this trip I can take with me the work I do here, but also that I can bring many experiences to students and teachers in our region,” he said.
According to the teacher, the idea is to combine the experience she has already gained with the knowledge she will have abroad. “The main goal is to help students understand education as transformative potential. They like going to school, but they need to better understand this school process,” he comments.
In her opinion, the experience will be important to bring new pedagogical practices into the state schools. “The countries we travel to are a reference for education. I hope to meet that reality there [Canadá]see what is different about them and bring them here to improve the process here in Paraná,” he concludes.
win the world
The Ganhando o Mundo program is being developed by the Paraná State Government. In this edition, the main objective is to enable teachers and educators of the state network from immersion in the educational system of another country, to exchange teaching, learning and assessment methods and to expand their capacities for social, historical and cultural contextualization.
During the three weeks they are abroad, they will take courses on topics such as classroom management, active methods, skills and competencebased curriculum, pedagogical guidance, local education system, learning assessment, inclusive education and experiential moments in primary schools in the destination country.
Of the 96 positions offered, 63 were for teachers or teacher trainers and 33 for teachers or student teachers. In addition, 24 posts are for Häme University of Applied Sciences in Finland and 72 posts are for Canadian institutions that are part of the Colleges and Institutes Canada association.
Selection
The best classified candidates were selected in relation to the mark, made up of two factors: experience in Formadores em Ação (points were assigned to each trip made) and didactic test.
This consisted of providing an action plan and a video, both addressing a problem situation in the school environment and a proposed solution. In addition, an English placement test had to be completed in order to determine the possible target country of the participant.
The candidate, who had a grade of at least B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), was classified for vacancies in Finland (where the course is taught in English).
The one with a grade lower than B2 has been classified for vacancies in Canada (where the training will be in Portuguese). Teachers selected for Canada take part in a preparatory English course offered by Seed so that they can communicate in the country.
