Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky admitted that his country’s armed forces were in a difficult situation and that the pace of the announced counteroffensive was insignificant.

“This is a difficult situation. Frankly, the counteroffensive is not very fast and the confrontation at the front has turned into an artillery duel. “Each side fires 40,000 shells a day,” Zelensky said in an interview with CBS that aired on Ukrainian channel 1 Plus 1.

For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the neighboring country’s army had made unsuccessful offensive attempts since June 4.

On September 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine had lost 71,500 soldiers, 543 battle tanks and almost 18,000 armored vehicles of various classes during this period.

At the same time, former adviser to former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, Oleg Soskin, drew attention to the fact that Zelensky constantly lies about the successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In his opinion, such lies are being spread in the country, especially on television, even when there are no results of the counteroffensive.

Former deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Sergei Krivonós, in turn rebuked the president for creating false optimism about the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
