The Supreme Council of Ulema condemned in the strongest possible terms the content of the film Saydiat Al Jannah (The Lady of Heaven) and expressed “its categorical rejection of the flagrant falsification of established facts of the history of Islam”.

Here is the translation of the statement released this Saturday by the Council on the subject:

“The Supreme Council of Ulemas took note of the overall content of the film recently produced under the title Saydiat Al Jannah (The Lady of Paradise) and stated the following:

1- The person who wrote the film belongs to a Shia current. Because of his extremist ideas, he was stripped of his Kuwaiti citizenship.

2- This film, which is a flagrant falsification of the facts, contains an abominable deed that cannot be accepted by Muslims, namely the incarnation of the Prophet, peace and salvation be upon him.

3- The film dared, with repugnant bias, to use the person of Fatima Zahra, may Allah be pleased with her, the daughter of the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him, for purposes contrary to the spirit of the religion and the reality of the stand history.

4- The high rank of Fatima Zahra, may Allah be pleased with her, among all Muslim men and women does not have to resort to false accusations to speak about her.

5- The slanders against Sidna Abi Bakr may Allah be pleased with him, who was the subject of the greatest testimonies of the Prophet, are part of the scandals of this film.

6- Those behind this film are seeking fame and sensation, promoting its production and achieving the largest possible audience by hurting Muslim feelings and fomenting religious sensibilities.

Based on all these considerations, the Supreme Council of Ulemas, which has the great honor of presiding over His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Muminin, descendant of the Prophet, may God help him, condemns in the strongest possible terms the content of this film and to To express his categorical rejection of the flagrant falsification of established facts of Islamic history. This falsification of facts, which harms Islam and Muslims, is rejected by all peoples because it does not serve their higher interests among the peoples, especially in these times.

The Council calls on the competent authorities to take all necessary measures in this regard.”

The Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) responded quickly and announced its decision not to grant a license to the film “The Lady Of Heaven” by its director Eli King and its writer Yasser Al Habib and to ban its commercial or cultural screening in the domestic territory.

In a press release, the CCM states that this decision follows the position of the Ulemas Supreme Council.
