The union bosses who support Biden and make six-figure salaries

Biden-supporting left-wing union barons who preach “solidarity” with workers have raked in six-figure salaries, many times the average American’s every year, according to tax records.

IRS filings reviewed by show that union bosses can earn more than Supreme Court justices – whose salaries start at $274,200 – by working just 35 hours a week.

But some earn even more: The President of the United States himself, whose official salary brings him $400,000 a year.

Terry O’Sullivan, the recently retired head of the Laborers Union of North America, raked in more than double that, at just over $1 million.

And teachers’ union leader Randi Weingarten, who has been criticized for pushing “woke” politics in classrooms and slowing down school reopenings during the pandemic, will receive more than $500,000.

According to the US Bureau of Labor, the median annual wage for all occupations in the United States is $61,900.

However, it may be harder for union fats to justify the staggering sums given that the national membership rate is just 10.1 percent.

Their groups have faced a sustained decline in numbers in the United States over the past five decades, down from 27.1 percent in 1973.

‘s analysis of the shocking salaries comes amid a cost-of-living crisis and two years of rampant inflation under the current government.

Joe Biden raised nearly $28 million in direct donations from union leaders during his 2020 campaign.

Union members also spent millions more on pro-Biden campaigns. All employee movements are tax-exempt, but are required by law to file a tax return with the IRS.

And while the sums dwarf those paid out by billionaires, the organizations wield great political clout because they can draw on their members to help canvass voters.

The latest figures since the president announced he would run for a second term have not yet been released.

Many of the major organizations that helped fund Biden have lobbied for weaker immigration laws and tougher environmental regulations.

And the president has admitted unions will be the biggest beneficiaries of his $1 trillion infrastructure spending.

“Union workers will build roads and bridges, install internet cables and install electric vehicle chargers.” Union workers will change America. And unionists will get the job done,” he said April 25 at a major speech in Washington, DC

has been scouring open-source tax disclosure data belonging to some of Biden’s biggest union supporters on the ProPublica website.

The numbers show that senior union officials rake in exorbitant amounts of money every year while ordinary Americans struggle to make ends meet.

Still, Biden picked the right crowd for his first post-announcement appearance, earning a standing ovation and a raucous

Service Employees International Union

Mary Kay Henry, a 65-year-old activist, heads the Service Employees International Union, which represents nearly two million workers in the healthcare, government and real estate services sectors.

Henry earned a whopping $256,875 for working just 35 hours a week, plus another $123,714 in other financial benefits, including pension payments, according to the union’s latest available IRS filing.

In a speech with fellow leftist Bernie Sanders, she said she will “continue to push for a minimum wage of $17 an hour” to support the senator’s campaign for fairer wages.

But the SEUI president’s seemingly light workload means she charges her members as much as $140 an hour, according to the 2019 IRS filing.

Last month, she hailed the government’s decision to end Title 42 – a Trump-era Covid dictate that made it easier to kick out illegals on public health grounds.

“Closing our borders to asylum seekers sends the wrong signal to the world,” Henry said.

Under her leadership, SEUI has also supported the Black Lives Matter movement, which rose to prominence following the brutal killing of George Floyd.

The union claims on its website that race issues in the US are “used as a weapon to divide working people while greedy corporate bosses stay on top”.

Such a statement might raise an eyebrow among its members in the US healthcare sector, where home care workers earn just over $30,000 a year, according to the Bureau of Labor.

The union’s own political action committee, known as the PAC, spent up to $75.4 million to support the 2020 election of Joe Biden.

That’s according to Open Secrets, a nonprofit transparency organization that tracks donations in US politics.

SEUI itself donated $5.8 million directly to the Biden campaign in 2020 and channeled tens of millions to other pro-democracy organizations.

AFL-CIO Union

The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, also known as the AFL-CIO union, claim to defend the interests of more than 12 million active and retired workers.

According to Open Secrets, the company gave $1 million to the pro-Biden organization For Our Future in 2020.

Its longtime chairman Richard Trumka, who died of a heart attack in August 2021, earned a base salary of $280,087 in 2020, the latest year for which the union filed an IRS disclosure.

His son, Richard Trumka Jr., was selected by Joe Biden last month for a senior position at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, which makes $158,500 a year.

The late Trumka Sr. also received $96,336 in additional benefits and perks, the filing shows, if he worked 40 hours a week.

Sean McGarvey, who is listed as vice president, raked in a whopping $574,689 — more than Joe Biden’s $400,000 White House salary — as well as $113,865 in additional bonuses.

McGarvey is also the chairman of the North American construction union, which welcomed Joe Biden for a big speech just before declaring his intention to run again.

The public documents show that up to 13 other AFL-CIO board members received six-figure salaries, including Trumka’s successor as president and then-treasurer Elizabeth Shuler.

In 2020, she walked away with a base salary of $241,417 and $87,967 in benefits for a 40-hour week.

The longtime labor activist took over the top post in August 2021 following the death of Richard Trumka and understands her salary has since increased in line with her predecessor’s overall package.

The AFL-CIO could face accusations of hypocrisy over his high-profile “greedflation” executive pay campaign, which tracks corporate salaries.

“CEOs, non-working people, cause inflation,” the union claims.

teaching unions

The National Education Association is defending three million teachers and other educational staff against low wages and poor working conditions.

The national median salary for public school teachers, according to the latest figures, is $66,745, with new hires starting at $42,845.

But its president, Rebecca Pringle, rakes in multiples of what its members earn each year.

IRS filings show the 68-year-old earned a base salary of $395,756 for a 36.5-hour week, just below what Joe Biden makes each year.

Pringle will also receive $138,487 in additional financial benefits, according to NEA tax records.

In 2015, the NEA approved a 68-page guide to “support transgender school children” from kindergarten age.

The amazing handout emphasized that age or grade “should never be used as a justification for delaying or refusing to change a student’s gender.”

It also offers self-proclaimed “Social Justice” training for teachers on issues such as gender identity.

Randi Weingarten, the president of the 1.7 million-member American Federation of Teachers, received a base salary of $457,863 — more than POTUS — and $85,669 in bonus pay, as per the union’s 2021 filing emerges.

The 65-year-old, who has been criticized for organizing self-promotional trips to war-torn Ukraine, bitterly refused to allow schools to reopen after a series of Covid lockdowns last year.

Incredibly, former union treasurer Lorretta Johnson walked away that same year with $1.4 million and $66,753 in bonus pay.

According to Open Secrets, Biden’s 2020 campaign received just over $232,000 directly from both unions.

But pro-democracy groups received over $23.5 million from the NEA and over $14 million from the AFT that same year.

Laborers International Union of North America

Militant labor leader Terry O’Sullivan was paid more than $1 million in base pay and benefits, according to the latest Laborers Union IRS records.

The organization, which represents more than half a million people, has poured more than $5 million into Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign, Open Secrets data shows.

The 68-year-old, now retired and replaced by Brett Booker on May 1, was paid $806,877 for a 60-hour week in 2020 – twice what the president makes in the White House.

O’Sullivan also received $209,239 in additional compensation, according to the union’s tax return forms.

That means the labor baron’s base hourly rate was a whopping $259 an hour — just over 17 times the $15 minimum wage demanded by some members of the US labor movement.

Two other LIUNA executives also made more than the Commander-in-Chief on base salary alone in 2020, each earning $597,679 and $435,129 for a 50-hour week, respectively.

Excessive salaries

reached out to each of the labor organizations mentioned in this article to explain how they justify paying such inflated salaries to their managers.

They were asked how much they planned to donate or spend on the 2024 Biden campaign.

Not a single union responded to a request for comment.
