He Peruvian soccer It has accustomed us to bizarre and curious stories in all its departments. In most cases, however, it is the events of the Copa Perú that most often transcend the terrain of the unusual. On this occasion the humble Rauker FC from the province of Coronel Portillo, Ucayali, can testify that he personally suffered one of the typical “criolladas” of our football: although he finished top of group A of his district league, he lost 4 points because he changed his name !!
Rauker FC is a side that took part in the Callería District League and was part of Group A from which two clubs emerged (first and second) that would join their counterparts in Group B for the last league which the two joined the Colonel associated clubs defined Provincial League Portillo. The protagonist of this story did his job on the pitch and went into the last matchday with 21 points, but an unusual decision knocked them out of the table. What happened?

Rauker FC and its name change
Harry López, a member of the Ucayalino club, told Radio Ovación that the institution has changed its name and that this is the argument to deduct 4 points at the end of the regular phase of the tournament. The team changed its name from “ADA Huracán de Ucayali” to “Rauker FC Callería 2022” and this name change was approved by the FPF through the Ucayali Departmental League. However, it was the district league that eliminated them from the competition.
Rauker FC lost 5-3 to Nuevo Pucallpa on the last matchday and the remaining points were not enough to defeat their mandatory rivals or Colegio Comercio in the final table. The club’s claim is based on the fact that the Judicial Commission of the Callería district league does not have the power to deduct points, as this is not provided for in the unified text of the bases and regulations of the national championship system.

Not now, young man
The Rauker FC case could be seen as a “dispute” between the Callería district league and the club. After putting the pieces together, it became clear that the aforementioned detail that it was the FPF that had agreed to the name change ultimately boded ill for the club’s fate. The reason the team approached the association directly was because neither their district league nor the provincial league wanted to receive formal documentation of the company name change from Coronel Portillo.
This rejection would explain why the league didn’t hesitate to deduct points for the unusual reason of the name change. Rauker FC then sent a notarized letter to the Ucayali Departmental League, urging them to delay the start of the final home run while their appeal is being decided. However, they advised the club to contact the FPF directly and in the meantime, the Liga de Callería planned the games as if nothing had happened.
What happened to Rauker FC in the end?
As the District League Callería did not care that an appeal was pending, Colegio Comercio, UNU, Nuevo Pucallpa and Deportivo Bancos played the final four heats to set qualifiers for the provincial stage. Having already played in the league and having received no response to his claim, Rauker FC has been ruled out of the competition and feels he has been withdrawn due to suspicions from authorities in the area.
To add to the bizarreness of this Copa Perú episode, during all of this, another Rauker FC finished second in the neighboring Nueva Requena District League, which will also have representatives in the Coronel Portillo Provincial League. This club has the same crest with a tree and the words ‘Rauker FC’ in blue letters on it, but underneath it says ‘Nva’. Requena” instead of “Callería” and also the year 2020 instead of 2022. Simply Peruvian football.
