The Vancouver Canucks announced Wednesday that general manager Patrik Allvin has signed a multi-year contract extension with the organization.
“The privilege of staying and continuing what we started here with the Canucks means a lot to me and my family,” Allvin said in a statement. Although our group has made much positive progress, the work is not yet complete. We will continue to push and do the work necessary to build a championship team.”

The team's recent successes are not unrelated to this announcement, as the Canucks are the best team in the National Hockey League (NHL) this season thanks to a 33-11-5 performance and 71 points.
“He [Patrik Allvin] “has worked tirelessly to create a new culture and identity that embodies the important attributes of hard work, structure and commitment,” said Jim Rutherford, president of the hockey operations team. With his ever-present winning mentality, Patrik’s leadership skills will be a key driver for the future of our organization.”
Allvin was named the 12th GM in BC team history on January 26, 2022. Since taking over, his club has not made the playoffs, finishing 22nd overall in the NHL in the BC standings in 2022-2023 and 18th in 2021-2022.
