The Venezuelan regime issues 14 arrest warrants against civilians and former military personnel

The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saabannounced on Monday that 14 arrest warrants had been issued against civilians and former military personnel for their alleged involvement in conspiracies against ruler Nicolás Maduro, Portal reported.

Saab said he asked a court on January 19 to issue arrest warrants for those involved in the conspiracies.

“The five conspiracies uncovered, the five conspiracies that I wanted to describe as a conspiracy that continued from May to today, are all, as I explained, being prosecuted in order to finally obtain a final final verdict with the maximum penalty,” Portal quoted as saying Saab.

He added that about 32 people, including military and civilians, had already been arrested due to the conspiracies that have taken place since last year, without giving further details.

According to a statement from Venezuela's Ministry of State cited by AFP, those arrested were involved in the five attacks alleged “conspiracies” to assassinate Maduro with the support of the United States.
