The veteran yellow cargo worker roars in fear when he learns his pension is in jeopardy
- The Central States Board of Trustees at Yellow Freight announced earlier this week that it would suspend health care benefits and pension accruals for workers
- Disturbing footage of a worker learning of the move was shared on social media, with a Teamsters strike now imminent over the plans
- A strike would involve most of the company’s 22,000 Teamster members, the second largest strike in the United States after the SAG-AFTRA workers’ strike
This is the troubling moment when a Yellow Freight trucker is told the company isn’t increasing the pension he’s built up over 30 years.
Footage shared on TikTok shows the unidentified worker screaming in anger after learning his health benefits and pension payments have been suspended.
You can hear the worker, who presumably works in Florida, say, “That’s the heck up there, I worked my ass for that company.” That’s my money you all play with. Fuck that shit.’

The worker’s video is clearly set in a depot surrounded by colleagues.
He keeps yelling and pacing: “No one tells me why I get emotional.”
“I’ve been here for thirty years. Nobody tells me to calm down. Analyze this shit.’
Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien said in a statement, “Yellow has once again failed its workers and continues to neglect its responsibilities.”

“The gross mismanagement of this company is yet another assault on the livelihoods and well-being of 22,000 Teamsters across the country.”
“After years of employee repayments, federal loans and other bailouts, this dead company is responsible for finding itself in this embarrassing position.”
Teamsters general secretary and treasurer Fred Zuckerman said, “Yellow has a responsibility and obligation to workers.”
“Our members should not suffer from the incompetence and financial irresponsibility of management.”
He continued, “This is a new low, even for a dysfunctional company like Yellow.” “Teamsters are working with our local unions and we will continue to update our members regularly as this situation develops.”
Yellow Freight currently has $1.6 billion in debt, of which $1.2 billion was due this summer, including $700 million to the federal government
A spokesman for the company told The Hill, “The company intends to repay the funds with interest immediately once additional financing is secured and has asked the funds to discuss acceptable terms.”
