“The Voice” crowns a new champion! Huntley wins season 24 – PEOPLE

Congratulations to Huntley!

Huntley was crowned the winner of The Voice season 24 on Tuesday night, marking coach Niall Horan's second win in a row.

“Huntley, you are the voice. Congratulations,” announced host Carson Daly. He burst into tears and hugged runner-up Ruby Leigh. Horan then jumped on stage and gave him a big hug.

During the show, Huntley performed Bob Dylan's “Knockin' on Heaven's Door” as a duet with Horan.

The 33-year-old singer beat Mara Justine from Team Niall, Jacquie Roar and Ruby Leigh from Team Reba and Lila Forde from Team Legend.

Huntley quickly caught the coaches' attention with his four-seat audition of “She Talks to Angels.”

“Huntley, I heard… I don't know if you've ever heard of an English singer called Daniel Merriweather. There was another named James Morrison. I hear that sound, like Chris Stapleton, a sound that comes naturally,” Horan, 30, said. “I bet you sang like that when you were 15. You sing in your own way, you sing very directly and you have so much power and control that you have. It’s so nice to listen to you.”

Trainer Gwen Stefani added: “Your voice is just so automatic. You know exactly at what point you'll be hoarse, and it's pure and honest. You sound like you've been singing forever. You just feel good.”

To help him choose, he brought his daughter, six-year-old Stella, on stage and she chose Horan as his coach.

Before the finale, Huntley – who is from Fredericksburg, Virginia – took to social media to talk about all the love and support he has received along the journey.

“This is crazy. “So blessed and so grateful for everyone who believed in me on this journey,” he wrote on Instagram. “Even if someone is named the winner, we all just tried to create moments of real art, and the outpouring of support from everywhere has meant so much to all of us.”

In 2022, he released his debut single “Holdin On”.
