Quebec native Jade Mathieu’s career ended on Tuesday night at the telecrochet “The Voice Kids” in France.

The 14-year-old singer, who was part of Slimane’s team, sang Whitney Houston’s song “I Have Nothing” for her semifinal.

“Whatever happens in your life, you will have a choice to do this job or not. “If you want to do this job, you will definitely do it,” Slimane then told her, thanking her “for this gift.”

These kind words obviously resonated with Jade, who will start fourth secondary school in a few days. The latter, who told the QMI agency that despite everything, she really enjoyed the experience, would like to write her songs and make a living from her music.

She is currently studying music, studying jazz and playing in a big band.

The elimination in the semi-finals did not affect the young Quebecer negatively. On the contrary, she values ​​her career with great pride.

“To be honest, it didn’t bother me. No matter who won, I was really happy because I had experienced everything I wanted to experience. I was with people I loved and I finished with them and won with them, in every way,” said Jade, who says she learned a lot during her time in France.

She also took the opportunity to visit the country between last January’s shootings, which spanned at least three weeks. “Discovering France has always been something I wanted to do. When they told me I was going to do The Voice, it was like two dreams coming true at the same time,” she said with a smile.

The young singer, who made really good friends on the set of the show, where there was a wonderful spirit of socializing and helping one another, said she was very proud of her friend Durel, 13, who was chosen by Slimane to perform on the big one participate in the finals. “He’s an incredible singer, he really deserves it,” she concluded.
