Good things come to those who wait. While ChatGPT was first launched as a website before being officially ported to iPhone and then Apple Watch with a dedicated application, OpenAI’s generative text AI will finally be available on Android very soon.
On Twitter, the company actually announced the launch of ChatGPT on Android for “next week” on Friday evening, without further details for the time being. It is also possible to pre-register in the Play Store in order to use the application on your smartphone or tablet as quickly as possible and to be informed when it is launched.

The visual elements highlighted by OpenAI on the ChatGPT page on the Play Store also allow you to discover the user interface offered on smartphones. Ultimately, logically, it’s pretty similar to what’s already found on the iPhone. Therefore, the application should offer a light and a dark theme. It should allow you to find previous chats using ChatGPT, as well as a settings menu.
In particular, the Android version of ChatGPT, like it already does on the iPhone, should not display any ads. However, keep in mind that it is possible to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus to benefit in particular from priority access and the GPT 4 model to receive more relevant answers.
