Negan sparked a bloody riot at the labor camp after the camp warden ordered his death by firing squad on Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead on AMC.

The season 11 episode titled Faith opened with Negan [Jeffrey Dean Morgan]his pregnant wife Annie [Medina Senghore]Juanita ‘Princess’ Sanchez [Paola Lazaro]Kelly [Angel Theory]Ezekiel [Khary Payton] and Magna [Nadia Hiker]who are held captive in the Commonwealth labor camp.

Negan and the others worked hard. Seeing his pregnant wife Annie struggling, he tried to convince a stormtrooper to go easy on her.

Another soldier approached and said they had to remind Negan of his place and threw Negan to the ground. Annie tried to intervene, but a soldier carried her away.

Outside camp, Daryl Dixon [Norman Reedus] and Carol Peletier [Melissa McBride] watched what happened through binoculars and hatched a plan to go inside and rescue their friends.

In another part of the forest, Lydia [Cassady McClincy]Elijah [Okea Eme-Akwari]Aaron [Ross Marquand] and Jerry [ Cooper Andrews] made their way through the forest. Lydia stabs a walker in the head, but Elijah tells her to be careful that it could have been a climber, a new breed of mutated zombie variant.

Suddenly Luke [Dan Fogler] and Jules [Alex Sgambati] appeared and everyone hugged.

Jerry told them they were returning to Oceanside, but Luke told him it had been taken over by the Commonwealth.

“It’s gone, man,” Luke said.

“I suggest we get as far away from Oceanside as we can,” Luke said.

Soldiers approached them simultaneously with a group of strays. To escape the soldiers, Lydia and the others mingled with the strays. Lydia dropped her knife and one of the strays reached down and picked it up.

Back in the Commonwealth, Eugene Porter [Josh McDermitt] was on trial for the murder of Sebastian Milton. His mother Commonwealth Governor Pamela Milton [Laila Robins] took the stand and demanded that Eugene pay for what he had done.

“You killed my boy,” Pamela said, crying. ‘This killer has to pay!’

Yumiko Okumura [ Eleanor Matsuura], who acted as Eugene’s attorney, disagreed. A crowd watched the trial from the courtroom. Yumiko whispered to Eugene that they needed to focus on convincing the viewers and not the judge.

With Pamela on the stand, Yumiko questioned her about the Commonwealth lottery and if it was fixed.

‘Is it a lie, just like your son said?’ Yumiko asked.

Yumiko reminded her that her son had made that statement on tape. Pamela denied that her son actually said that.

“The tape has been altered,” Pamela said.

maggie [Lauren Cohan]Gabriel Stokes [Seth Gilliam]Rosita Espinosa [Christian Serratos], Carol and Connie discussed how to save the others in the labor camp. They also noted that only the adults were in the camp and not the children. The group split up to find a way in.

At the labor camp, Negan and Ezekiel attempted to talk to Tyler about helping them escape. Tyler said they’ve tried this before, but it never worked.

Soldiers came in, grabbed Negan and took him to the camp warden [Michael Weaver] who showed him a note.

The Warden instructed him to find out who’s keeping track if he ever wanted to see Annie. A soldier then brought Negan to Annie.

“We’re going to get out of here,” Annie said to Negan.

Meanwhile, Daryl and Connie lowered themselves into the camp’s sewage system. Carol and Maggie had also made it into camp through another sewer.

Yumiko and Max visited Eugene in his cell. Yumiko urged Max to help her brother get Commonwealth military commander Mercer [Michael James Shaw] Help them.

Yumiko asked Mercer to testify publicly against Pamela.

“Doing what you’re asking isn’t going to change anything,” Mercer said.

Maggie and Carol entered a house in the labor camp. Maggie worries about finding her son Hershel.

Ezekiel told Negan that he didn’t deserve to be a father. Negan went to the overseer.

“So you have a name for me?” said the Warden.

Daryl and Connie worked their way through the sewers killing walkers.

Back in the courtroom, Eugene told the judge he wanted to speak on his own behalf. Eugene said he wouldn’t have made it this far without the help of friends.

“In my own way, I changed the world,” Eugene said. “And sometimes it only takes one person.”

Eugene was found guilty of first-degree murder and was sentenced to public execution within an hour. The crowd screamed and Pamela walked away smiling. Max stared at her brother in shock.

At the labor camp, the guards ordered everyone to go outside. The warden explained that there was a traitor in the camp. Negan, he said, admitted trying to lead a rebellion and would be executed.

Annie ran over and Negan told her she loved her.

The soldiers formed a firing squad. When Negan smiled, the Warden grabbed Annie and forced her to join him.

“There are no martyrs here,” said the overseer.

Negan begged one of the soldiers not to shoot.

Ezekiel then walked towards him with his hands up and stood in front of Negan and Annie. The other prisoners joined him.

“I admire your courage, prisoner,” said the Warden. ‘Shoot them all.’

“You don’t have to do this,” Ezekiel said. “This world is broken, but we don’t have to be.”

Guard 197 pointed his gun at the guard. The guard grabbed Kelly and held her at gunpoint until Daryl stabbed him from behind.

Maggie and Carole made their way through the house and rescued Hershel. Rosita was looking for her daughter Coco.

Negan was about to kill the warden when Rosita rushed over and demanded to know what happened to her daughter Coco first.

‘Where is she?’ Rosita demanded and then let a zombie loose on him when he didn’t want to speak.

Eugene was taken from his cell to be executed by soldiers with a sack over his head. Mercer came towards them and took the bag.

The Walking Dead will return to AMC next week with its penultimate episode before the series finale on November 20.

The series premiered on AMC on October 31, 2010 and has spawned several spin-offs.
