A court waiter accidentally re-enacted a famous scene from “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and tripped Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry to end the first half of Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.

After attempting to defend a three-point shot from Mavericks forward Reggie Bullock, Curry ran back to his team’s basket. But before he could make it to this side of the yard, he fell. Curry had stumbled over the waiter’s beer tray – ironically after the waiter tried to move it out of the way, perhaps for safety reasons – and was slow to get up at first, but walked well once he started making his way to the dressing room.

Many viewers immediately recalled an episode of the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which Larry David’s character stretched his legs during a Lakers game when Shaquille O’Neal walked down the court and tripped the big man from Los Angeles . O’Neal also referenced this scene during that game’s halftime show, joking that the vendor had to get out of the way because nobody wants a pretzel that badly.

Of course, unlike the TV episode, Curry emerged from the incident without a serious knee injury.

Curry had a laugh after the Warriors’ nine-point win gave them a 3-0 lead. “It was 30 seconds before half-time,” he said. “You order a drink, just wait until halftime. I don’t know why they had to have delivered it exactly then. Luckily I was fine. This guy, he did his job so hopefully he got a big tip.”
