The Weeknd makes The Simpsons debut as a children’s influencer

The Weeknd was featured in the latest episode of The Simpsons.

The Weeknd made his The Simpsons debut on Sunday night in an episode about Bart befriending a child influencer, played by the Dawn FM singer.

Describing the plot, the episode’s screenwriter Ryan Koh said, “Bart’s new friendship with a hottie celebrity will make him objectively and undeniably cool. Homer feels left behind and jealous, so he’ll start wearing skatewear to make up for it. He’ll lead a riot by his middle-aged loser dads to ‘wear crazy clothes they don’t understand’ to feel young and cool again.”

The Simpsons isn’t the first animated series The Weeknd has voiced. In 2020, Abel appeared in an episode of American Dad!. He then mentioned that The Simpsons was one of the few shows comparable to working on American Dad!.

“American Dad was everything I wanted,” the Starboy told Variety at the time. “It’s going to be hard to top that in the world of animated TV, but an obvious wish list would be to work on ‘The Simpsons.’ That would be a dream — and if you’re reading this, I actually have a pretty cool idea if you’re down.”
