With the second season of “The Wheel of Time” over, we can now turn to the third season. The finale of the second season of the fantasy series, which was a hit on Prime Video, already hints at new villains that the heroes will have to face. In the season finale, Rand al’Thor, Perrin Aybara, Mat Cauthon, Egwene Al’Vere and Nynaeve al’Meara are all brought to the city of Falme. A city soon plunged into chaos when it is attacked by a group of religious soldiers called the Children of the Light, who are attempting to free themselves from the powerful invaders who have taken over Falme. After testing their strength and determination, they find Rand, who helps him defeat Ishamael, the Dark One’s main ally. Rand manages to defeat Ishamael. Moiraine then uses a form of magic called “One Power” to create a dragon from fire and consecrate Rand as a reborn dragon, fulfilling the prophecy about the legendary hero.

Rand and his friends find themselves in danger in the Season 2 finale of The Wheel of Time
Lanfear is torn between her loyalty to the Dark One’s plan and her love for the dragon reborn. In the second season finale, she betrays Ishamael and attempts to get rid of the dials that contain the imprisoned Forsaken. However, when she arrives at Ishamael’s room to get rid of them, the prisons are broken into a thousand pieces. She meets one of the Forsaken, Moghedien, who tells her that Ishamael freed the six remaining Forsaken before his death and that they all went looking for Rand and his four friends.
The Wheel of Time Season 3: What happens in the fourth novel, at the heart of the plot?
Season 3 of The Wheel of Time will adapt the fourth novel, The shadow risesshowrunner Rafe Judkins has already announced. It is expected that large parts of “The Dragon Reborn” will also be adapted in season 3, as important story elements from this novel have not yet been implemented in the series. The third book follows Rand’s journey to the Stone of Tearing (a massive fortress), where he must retrieve the legendary sword called Callandor. “The Shadow Rising” shows Rand returning to his original people, the Aiel, in the Aiel Desert to prove the legend to them. We’ve already met three Aiel – Aviendha, Bain and Chiad – who travel with Perrin to Falme and help him save Rand.

The Wheel of Time Season 3: Awaited Revenge
In “The Shadow Rising”, the Children of Light also attack the Two Rivers, home of the five heroes, after being corrupted by the Dark One’s disciples, who led them to believe that evil reigned there. In the season finale, the commander of the Children of Light, Geofram Bornhald, kills Hopper, the wolf and Perrin’s friend, and Perrin kills Geofram in revenge, in front of his son Dain Bornhald. It is likely that Dain goes to Deux Rivières to find Perrin and avenge his father, and that, as in the book, Perrin returns there to try to protect his hometown.

The Wheel of Time Season 3: Mat’s journey isn’t over yet
Part of Mat’s journey in The shadow rises was already adapted in season 2 of the series. But there’s another important aspect of his story in the fourth book that we could potentially see in Season 3. During their journey, Mat, Moiraine and Rand travel to another dimension where they encounter a race of foxes called the Eelfinn. The Eelfinn grant Mat three wishes, allowing him to acquire the knowledge of military generals, a polar weapon called the Ashandarei, and a medallion that protects him from the One Power.
