The wing of a United Airlines plane struck the tail of a Delta plane at a Boston airport Friday night, Federal Aviation Administration officials told CNN.

The incident happened around 7:20 p.m. at Boston Logan International Airport, when the United plane taxied to a holding platform at the airport and grazed the tail of a Delta plane, the Federal Aviation Administration said. No injuries were reported.

Alex Wilson, who said he was on board the Delta plane waiting for takeoff, told CNN he felt the plane sway back and forth for a few seconds.

“[It] It wasn’t immediately clear what was causing this, although it felt like a brief earthquake,” he told CNN.

Minutes later, Wilson said he noticed emergency vehicles in front of his plane. Shortly thereafter, the pilot reported on the intercom and informed the passengers that another plane had hit them with the tail.

Video taken by Wilson from inside the plane shows several ambulances and personnel on the plane. Another video shows the United Airlines plane bound for Newark being towed.

Wilson said his Delta flight, bound for Detroit, was eventually towed back to the original gate.

“The winglet of a United aircraft struck the tail of another aircraft at Boston Logan International Airport,” United said in a statement. “United aircraft customers disembark normally at the gate and we will transfer them to other flights.”

Meanwhile, Delta apologized to customers for the delays.

“The aircraft made contact with another aircraft while awaiting takeoff clearance at Logan Airfield,” Delta Air Lines said in a statement to CNN. “Delta teams are working tonight to bring customers to their final destinations and we apologize for the delay.”
