The Vancouver Canucks traded first- and second-round picks Wednesday in the 2023 draft to get Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek.

As part of this transaction, the British Columbia team also acquired a fourth-round pick in 2023. Additionally, the first-round pick is the one the Canucks got from the New York Islanders in a trade involving Bo Horvat.
Hronek has 305-game National League experience after being selected by the Wings in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2016 amateur auction.
The 25-year-old Czech has nine goals and 29 assists for 38 points in 60 games so far this season.
