The word free salary cap for top politicians

The increase in salaries of leading politicians rightly causes dissatisfaction among the population. While opposition parties show at least something of a guilty conscience, the ÖVP argues that the 5.3 percent increase is the lowest of all professional groups. Have you ladies and gentlemen of the ÖVP club already calculated how much is the percentage increase in relation to an average salary or an average pension in euros? While the increase in higher salaries is 1000 euros (14 times a year!) and more, the increase in average earnings is around 100 euros. The increase for smaller yields is even smaller! The increase in top politicians’ fees would be the biggest increase in many decades and, given the crisis, completely absurd. Once again, it shows how distant some politicians live and how far removed their world is from the reality of people who struggle with extreme inflation every day. When the necessary resolutions are passed at the next National Council, deputies will show with their voting behavior whether they agree with the salary increase or whether resistance will collapse when it comes to their own money. If a price cap on energy and food is rejected, at least a salary cap for top politicians should be implemented!
