The world is upside down: Julien Lacroix gives his first TV interview this week

Fallen comedian Julien Lacroix will give his first television interview on Friday night since sexual misconduct allegations were made against him. The 30-year-old artist, who has been off the airwaves for two and a half years, will end up on the set of the show The world turned upside down for a one-on-one interview with Stéphan Bureau, got to know the agency QMI.

Although the angle of the interview was not revealed, Julien Lacroix should all in all return to the denunciations that have overshadowed his career in recent years, discuss his journey away from consumption and encourage his return to space.

Recall that the comedian left public life in July 2020 after allegations of sexual violence were made against nine women who denounced him in an investigation by the daily Le Devoir.

The comedian then tried several times and with different approaches to return to the media sphere. In particular, he tried to walk away from a first public speech on social networks, confirming that he was “following a therapeutic process to overcome his alcohol addiction” and almost 11 months later, he granted an interview to Le Devoir in which he awkwardly defended himself against the allegations.

Just before Christmas, after canceling a first return to the stage this summer, the comedian began performing to small rooms (about 30 seats) for the recording of a podcast, humor and question-and-answer-style confessions.

Shortly before, a controversial file from La Presse+ and 98.5 breathed new life into the case, discrediting the testimonies of certain victims and paving the way for the comedian’s return to the panels.

Le monde à l’envers is broadcast live on TVA every Friday at 8pm.
