The world’s biggest drone maker suspends business with Russia and Ukraine

Watch video: Chinese drone maker suspends business with Russia and Ukraine.

STORY: The world’s largest drone maker, DJI Technology, is temporarily ending its business in Russia and Ukraine. The Chinese manufacturer produces hobby drones and larger aircraft for professional use, for example in agriculture. DJI condemns any use of its drones to cause harm. Sales in those countries are temporarily suspended so that no one uses the drones in combat, a company spokesperson said. This is not a statement about a country, but a statement about the principles themselves. This makes DJI the first major Chinese company to stop sales to Russia amid the war in Ukraine. There, on the Ukrainian side, hobby drones are also used for reconnaissance.
