“We’re thrilled to be working with the team at Vertigo Films and a brilliant cast to bring this propulsive thriller to life.”

It came after Alexandra broke down in tears as she revealed the immense guilt she felt returning to work just two months after giving birth to her first child.

She took a short maternity leave to rejoin the touring production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 2022.

Alexandra, who gave birth to her second child with football boyfriend Darren Randolph, 36, in September last year, cried as she told how she once begged her bosses to delay the start of a show because her baby was distressed and had to be fed.

The singer said on the Dirty Mother Pukka podcast: “There were times when I wanted to go on stage and I can't remember what venue I was at and my firstborn was crying and they said, 'Curtain has to go.' “go upstairs” and I thought “I have to feed the baby”. I said “stop the show.”

“The pressure I had and felt to get my ass on that stage.” I said, “You might as well just let me feed the baby because I'm crying on stage,” and you couldn't open the show because I stood there crying.

“And as much as everyone said, 'The baby is going to be fine, it's going to be fine.' But I'm her mother and I felt so guilty, and I still feel that guilt.

“It's not like even the baby doesn't remember, but I won't forget that.”

Alexandra said it had been a big learning curve for her and she would “never let me abandon my child again”.

“I also have to say, even though I felt that pressure and that moment stays with me, of course I signed up for this show and the curtain goes up every night at 7:30 p.m. and I'm very conscious of that,” she said .

“There are thousands of people in the audience waiting for the show to start, so I don't blame anyone for this situation. “At the same time, it still makes me emotional.”
