The accusation: making war “glamorous”. Comments on Instagram:
The main accusation is that the war was made “glamorous”, “fascinating”. On social media, crowds of indignant negatively commented on the October cover of the world’s most important fashion magazine, Vogue America, dedicated to Ukraine’s first lady Olena Zelenska, who also poses in the service entitled “The Portrait of Courage” her husband and President Zelensky. The photos are signed by portraitist Annie Leibovitz, who flew to Kyiv for the occasion: “War is not Instagram”; “There are people who suffer,” we read.
Among the comments is that of American political scientist Ian Bremmer, who wrote on Twitter: “Zelensky did a fantastic job beating the Russians in information warfare. But a wartime fashion photo shoot: bad idea ».
Alongside the First Lady – who gave an interview 7 two weeks ago – her people who see in this report the strength and pride of the women of Kyiv. “Many of my fellow citizens – Oleksandra Povoroznyk writes, for example – see in this cover an important part of what Olena is doing to raise awareness of our country.”
