Four men from the United Kingdom have been formally charged in connection with the theft of a gold toilet worth 4.8 million pounds (8.12 million Canadian dollars) from a palace in England in 2019.
The item was stolen from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on September 14, 2019 and it took a long time for investigators to determine how the toilet was stolen.
Authorities eventually announced that they had formally charged four men: James Sheen, 39, Michael Jones, 38, Fred Doe, 35, and Bora Gucciuk, 39, Sky News reports.
They face charges ranging from burglary to transferring criminal property to conspiracy to transfer criminal property.
Her trial is scheduled for November 28 at Oxford Crown Court.
The fully functional golden toilet was installed as part of an exhibition by Italian artist Maurisio Cattelan at Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of former Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill.
It had previously been installed at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and was also gifted by the museum to former US President Donald Trump when he entered the White House.
