A veritable rain of rockets fell on the city of Ashkelon in Israel, injuring hundreds of its citizens.

With each new bombing, citizens “run for refuge in this hospital, which is fully protected and where the wounded are placed in sheltered rooms underground,” Ava Mergy, I24NEWS special correspondent in Ashkelon, tells TVA Nouvelles.
The plight of Israeli citizens is palpable.
“There are people who have lost their homes […]. There are people who suffered psychological trauma who were at that rave party in the south of Israel and survived,” she adds.
In addition to the physical injuries, the psychological injuries caused by this violence also require careful care.
“These people need to tell their stories, they come to tell us, they tell their story on all television channels, in all languages, because they need it to be known,” says Ms. Mergy.
