Amazon’s streaming platform introduces a brand new feature. Hype Chat allows viewers to pay to pin their message to the top of chat.
Since Twitch doesn’t review its revenue sharing policy towards streamers, it offers them a new way to get more money from their viewers, whether they’re on their computer or their smartphone. Hype Chat is currently limited to Twitch partners.
Consolidate yourself against the competition
For the past few weeks, Twitch has faced stiff competition from a newcomer to the market, Kick. The new streaming platform has already struck attractive partnerships with some of the purple site’s biggest stars, such as Canada’s xQc and Amouranth. Faced with aggressive competition, Twitch introduces a new way for creators to increase their earnings. Hype Chat therefore allows viewers to pay for messages to be pinned to the top of chat during a live broadcast and for a limited time.

Twitch explains in detail how it works. Viewers can pay anywhere from $1 to $500, with a minimum of up to $100, to view their message. The channel owner can configure this option. The higher the amount paid, the greater the viewer’s entitlement to additional benefits. For example, your message can stay pinned longer, contain more characters, or benefit from more personalization.
security from harassment
So Hype Chat doesn’t work like highlighted messages with string dots. Here a person can pay in their local currency without using bits. Currently, the feature is reserved for Twitch Partners only, which are channels that have earned the Partner’s Way badge by streaming for 30 days, 25 hours on 12 different days, and in front of an average of 75 viewers. The distribution of Hype Chat earnings is the same as for subscriptions: 70% for the streamer and 30% for Twitch.
Because Twitch chat is what it is, the company plans to have creator and creator protections added to the latest additions to the space, such as labels for adult content. Words prohibited by Twitch and channel moderation are not allowed in a Hype Chat message. People who are temporarily banned or banned from a channel cannot send a Hype Chat message. The messages are first analyzed by AutoMod. Payment for a hype chat is not complete until the bot accepts the message. Moderators and streamers may choose to remove posts deemed offensive or unwanted.
