A study at the University of Queensland in Australia concluded that there is a type of mushroom that may help stimulate memory. It is about a compound found in lion’s mane mushrooms or lion’s mane.
“Extracts from these mushrooms have been used in traditional medicine in Asian countries for several centuries, but we wanted to scientifically determine their potential effect on brain cells,” explains Frederic Meunier, who is responsible for the study.

The study, published in the Journal of Neurochemistry, also explains that this work could help to understand how this compound can be used in the treatment of other pathologies such as Alzheimer’s disease.
